Vacation Rentals Website to Expand

The huge vacation rentals website HomeAway is continuing its aggressive acquisition strategy with the purchase of realholidays.com.au, the leading Australian vacation rental brand of REA Group Limited. The acquisition will broaden HomeAway's presence in the Australian market, as well as in the Asia-Pacific region.
This will augment HomeAway's existing business in North America, Europe and South America. Realholidays.com.au currently features over 21,000 listings, and it will be integrated with the Australian version of the HomeAway website to be managed by James Cassidy. Cassidy is a former executive at realholidays.com.au and stayz.com.au. International expansion ahs been a key growth strategy for the Austin, Texas based HomeAway, which filed an IPO valued at $230 million a few weeks ago. The company has grown to represent over 500,000 paid vacation rental home listings in 120 countries.
